Overview

Centurion’s all-new Fe22 was designed and developed to be more affordable while still offering the wakesurfing and wakeboarding performance for which Centurion has become famous.

Centurion markets the Fe22 with a Surf Ready package that offers a lot of performance technologies and creature comforts, with an advertised price of $139,995. This consists of Centurion’s QuickSurf Pro system, Ramfill 2 ballast system (plus extra ballast, for a total of 4,350 pounds), a Roswell Battle Advance tower with board racks and Bimini top, and more. The Fe22’s angular style lines and signature badging give it a look that fits right in with its Centurion siblings. It also inherits the acclaimed Opti-V Hull—a deep-V-shaped design that creates added water displacement and a smoother, more comfortable ride in windblown chop.

Interior and Accessories

What makes the Fe22 unique as a price-point model in the Centurion line is that you don’t immediately see it or feel it upon stepping inside, and you definitely don’t notice it when it comes to the wakesurfing performance. While many other entry-level boats can feel like stripped-down versions of preexisting models or molds (and they often are), the Fe22 does not. Like other Centurion models, it features a comfortable, sturdy Spradling vinyl interior with plenty of padding both in the seats and bolsters. The only knock might be the lack of a reversible rear seat for better watching the action on the water. It’s common in many V-drives at all price points but is by no means a deal-breaker for the Fe22. Flooring throughout is GatorStep, and even the storage areas underneath the seats are Rhino-lined, giving this boat a nice, finished feel, even in the unseen areas. The 22-footer is rated for 13 passengers and has a listed dry weight of 5,100 pounds, so add in some friends and the 4,350 pounds of ballast, and you’re ready to create serious wakes and waves for riders of all levels.

The Fe22 wakeboarding
The Fe22 is capable of serving mellow waves for new riders or steeper, “lippier” ones preferred by advanced riders. Courtesy Centurion Boats

The QuickSurf Pro, Ramfill and ballast systems are all easily controlled from the large touchscreen at the helm. While other Centurion models feature dual side-by-side touchscreens, the Fe22 is limited to the single, but it doesn’t take away from any functionality or aesthetics. QuickSurf Pro features port and starboard plates mounted at the transom for surfing either side (and quickly being able to switch on the fly), while the center-mounted plate helps adjust the characteristics of the wakes and waves. The ability to fine-tune waves through ballast and plate adjustments means the Fe22 is capable of serving mellow waves for new riders or steeper, “lippier” ones preferred by advanced riders. At 22 feet, the Fe22 is easier to displace than its bigger Centurion siblings, and with all that ballast, it quickly kicks out pro-level wakes and waves.

The captain is treated to a swiveling Cobra Racing seat that is as comfortable as it is stylish. To the left of the steering wheel there is a stereo head unit and a wireless phone-charger cradle. Behind the steering wheel are dual paddle-shifter controls, which control the center wake plate and the speed control for on-the-fly adjustments. An all-new windshield designed to flow with the lines of the Fe22 wraps the cockpit in style. In the floor of the walk-through is a convenient built-in cooler, and above is a hatch to a trash bin integrated into the storage behind the OB seat. The Roswell tower integrates seamlessly with the boat, and comes in white or black colorways, with side panels that can be upgraded to a custom color of your choosing. With the Surf Ready package, the tower is equipped with two WetSounds speakers, which complement the seven additional speakers (including a subwoofer) throughout the interior.

Engine

For power, a 6L 409 hp PCM Crusader comes standard, and provides plenty of giddy-up to get on plane, especially when the QuickLaunch system is engaged, which utilizes the surf plates to assist with planing while making bow rise almost nonexistent. Accessing the swim platform is both easy and convenient, thanks to a transom walk-through and a step pad built into the rear bench. This keeps foot traffic off the upholstery—always a plus. At the transom, a large rear locker conveniently stows several boards and all the requisite gear, but it also is upgradable to hold additional ballast.

In terms of shopping, buyers will want to look at the Moomba Craz ($116,300 well-equipped), a fellow 22-footer with a lot of similar specs and options, including 4,500 pounds of ballast and a 70-gallon tank. The Craz also offers a passenger rating of 16.

As buyers in the watersports market have become inundated with bigger boats with price tags to match, it’s refreshing for Centurion to create the Fe22 with the sole purpose of making it more affordable relative to the market while still delivering great performance. This model not only does that, but top to bottom, it also is a good-looking, well-built, comfortable and really fun boat. For buyers who don’t need every bell and whistle, or who don’t need anything more than 22 feet, the Fe22 should make the shortlist.

As demand for boats in the ever-competitive watersports market has risen over the past decade, manufacturers have worked hard to continually push the capabilities of the boats being made, be it through new technologies, design features, overall size or numerous other factors. Of course, this generally comes with a cost: higher prices for the consumer. For award-winning manufacturer Centurion, a new opportunity presented itself, and the company approached solving it in a unique way.

The Fe22 is an all-new model from Centurion, designed from bottom up to be a more cost-effective option that can live up to the Centurion name and performance characteristics. The calling card of this new model revolves around its Surf Ready package, with an advertised price of $139,995. While this price does not include freight, dealer fees or taxes, it gets the buyer a lot of Centurion’s acclaimed features, including the QuickSurf Pro system, the Silent Stinger Wake Plate, a whopping 4,350 pounds of ballast—including the Ramfill2 system—and the Opti-V hull design. The price also includes Roswell’s Battle Advance tower, board racks and Bimini, a nine-speaker Wet Sounds system, 2-layer GatorStep nonskid flooring throughout, Spradling vinyl interior, a large HD touchscreen helm display, an all-new battery management and PDM breaker system in the glove box, a tandem-axle trailer, and a lot more.

An Interesting Challenge

While many manufacturers over the years have offered a variety of different entry-level types of boats, most have been a retooled or stripped-down version of an existing model or hull mold—and oftentimes, the advertised prices don’t include many necessary essentials to actually wakesurf. Many of those offerings often felt cheap, especially when compared with their bigger siblings in the lineup. Rather than take that route, which buyers are often wary of because it can feel disingenuous, Centurion set out to build a brand-new boat designed to hit as many of the marks as possible in terms of what buyers might want and need, while keeping the price realistic and honest.

Centurion Opti-V Hull

“We found ourselves (Centurion) in an interesting spot. As we continued to evolve our lineup, we ended up pricing out customers from just four or five years ago,” says VP of Marketing & Brand Direction Amy Mauzy. “We had customers who loved their 2019 Fi21s, or other models, and wanted to upgrade to a new Centurion but couldn’t for several reasons. One, we no longer had a 21- or 22-foot boat in the lineup, and two, price. So we did the opposite of what we and most brands normally do when creating a lower-price-point boat: We treated it like we were building a brand-new flagship.”

A lot of time and effort was put into maximizing what was possible with the Fe22, while also keeping the price approachable to many potential buyers. The result is a price-point boat that doesn’t feel at all bare-bones.

So, What’s Missing?

With that, the obvious question is, what’s missing? When compared with other models in the Centurion line, buyers of the Fe22 will find fewer options and amenities; there is no customizable seating with a sliding rear bench or pop-up backrests, the Roswell Battle Advance tower is the only one available, same for the single touchscreen (all other Centurions feature dual-touchscreen displays at the helm). The standard engine in the Fe22 is also different than other Centurion models: a 6.0-liter, 409 hp Crusader as opposed to a ZZ5 400 hp PCM. Although it should be noted, Crusader and PCM are both subsidiaries of Pleasurecraft Engine Group, owned by Correct Craft, which also owns Centurion. The Crusader is just as powerful as its PCM counterparts, but it comes with a 600-hour warranty, while the PCMs offer 1,000.

Centurion Fe22 layout
Minimizing available options is one way that costs are contained for the Centurion Fe22. There is but one engine choice, for example, and seating is not customizable. Courtesy Centurion Boats

As more and more watersports boats approach and surpass the $200,000 mark, though, the Fe22 bucks the trend, with the potential to be a trendsetter. In terms of a solid, stylish, comfortable boat with plenty of features and creature comforts that puts out high-end wakes and waves and allows everybody to have fun on the water? The Fe22 delivers in spades.

Centurion’s new Predator Power Tower (PPT), available on all Ri models, is shown here on the Ri265 with the Warrior Edition Package. It is designed and built by Roswell Marine and unlike any tower ever produced. Be sure to see the Ri265 and the PPT.

Push a button and the PPT’s smart  linear actuator drops the tower while keeping the 9-foot Bimini top perfectly flat. Want more shade on an ultra-sunny day? Caught in a downpour or a low bridge? This tower solves those with ease. The tower can position anywhere between all the way up and down, and it can be used for wakesurfing and wakeboarding as well. The Bimini’s unique, rigid exoskeleton frame means no adjusting when raising or lowering, and no stowing it when trailering.

Wakes and waves? Those put up by the Ri265 proved powerful, beautiful, and easily adjusted for a variety of skill levels and preferences thanks to the QuickSurf Pro system and Silent Stinger Wake Plate. At 6,400 pounds, with the ability to take on 5,850 pounds of ballast, the Ri265 displaces a ton of water. The QuickSurf Pro plates work together to shape that displaced water into clean, rideable surfaces with maximum push and a huge pocket for wakesurfers. The Silent Stinger Wake Plate makes the wave steeper and taller or longer and mellower. Control the Ri265’s systems easily via the 12-inch Touch Vision Screens.

Over the years, Centurion’s Ri230 has pulled numerous world championships, creating a platform like no other for the wakesurf industry. For 2024, the Ri230 offers new features that continue to enhance this boat’s legacy. The looks of the Ri230 are as clean as ever, but can get as bold as the buyer desires. Our test boat featured Centurion’s special Salute 2 Service options, which include custom graphics, GatorStep flooring patterns and more. Parts of the proceeds from S2S-equipped Centurion boats go to charities to support wounded veterans. Kudos!

Pro-level wakes and waves come courtesy of Centurion’s acclaimed Opti-V hull design, which incorporates 20 degrees of transom deadrise. The deeper V allows the stern to sit deeper in the water in order to displace and shape the symmetrical wakes and waves. With 5,400 pounds of ballast available in seven uniquely placed zones, the Ri230 is capable of producing waves for beginners to world champs alike. The automated Quicksurf Pro system shapes the waves perfectly, giving them a clean face with a ton of push. The plates can be micro-tuned to dial in the wave’s characteristics for each rider. Once a rider finds the settings they prefer, they can save them to a profile for quick access at the helm.

The Centurion Ri230 comes with the Revo Side by Side 12-by-12-inch Touch Vision HD Dash. All of the boat’s functions, from Quicksurf Pro to ballast, lighting, and onboard cameras at the bow and transom, are quickly and easily accessed and adjusted with a couple of fingertip taps. New for 2024 is a small head-unit control mounted near the throttle. This makes it easy for the captain to quickly adjust or turn off the boat’s audio if needed.

Comfort abounds throughout the Ri230, thanks to Centurion’s Spradling vinyl interior, which is also quite durable. New Ri stitching patterns accentuate the look, while pop-up backrests on the port and starboard sides of the wraparound seat can line up with the convertible rear bench that slides inward. These rear-facing options are great for watching all the action on the epic endless waves.

The Ri265 offers new levels of fun with family and friends. Garrett Cortese

Overview

Let’s get this out of the way now: The Predator Power Tower is not only ingenious, but it makes the 2024 Centurion Ri265 more versatile and comfortable in a multitude of ways. Utilizing a scissor-hinge design and four Linak electric linear actuators (rated at 2,400 pounds each), the PPT folds down while keeping the 9-foot Bimini top perfectly flat. Want more shade or need protection from a sudden rain shower? The PPT can lower in less than 20 seconds. Even at its lowest position, there is still plenty of headroom for the captain to drive and passengers to sit underneath comfortably. Plus, the Ri265 can operate at any speed with the tower in any position—fully raised, lowered, or at any point in between. It can also tow while in any position. So, if you’ve got a wakesurfer who wants to ride and passengers who want more shade, no problem. And back to that Bimini; at 9 feet long, it offers plenty of coverage. Add in the optional extension and you can cover the whole lounge. What’s really unique is that the entire exoskeleton structure is rigid and sturdy, so it’s always in the deployed position, which means no more folding and unfolding your Bimini structure. The PPT’s Bimini is designed to be driven and towed while deployed. If you’re a fan of a little extra sun, though, the Bimini top has convertible forward sections. Simply unzip the port and starboard sides, and the section rolls back on itself thanks to functionality similar to what you might find in a child’s slap bracelet. With all of its design, functionality and versatility, it’s easy to see why the Roswell-designed PPT is the most revolutionary tower brought to the tow-boat market.

Centurion Ri265 bow seating
Deep gunwales and Spradling vinyl interior with supple padding create comfort. Garrett Cortese

When it comes to performance, the Ri265 comes up big as well. With 5,850 pounds of available ballast, combined with Centurion’s QuickSurf system and the acclaimed Opti-V hull, the Ri265 is designed to create optimal wakesurfing waves. The ballast system is split into seven zones, allowing riders to customize the wave’s shape and size. Further customization comes via the QuickSurf plates on the transom, as well as the center-mounted Stinger Wake Plate. Adjusting the Stinger Wake Plate will make the wave longer and mellower or shorter and steeper. The QuickSurf plates can also be tweaked for even more wave optimization. Should you find a combination of ballast, plate positions and speed that really hits the mark, you can save it as a rider profile for use at any time in the future.

Centurion Ri265 helm

Interior and Accessories

You control the boat’s systems via dual 12-inch Revo Side-by-Side touchscreens at the helm. Quickly move through menus with the tap of a finger to control everything from ballast systems and speed control to interior lighting options and GPS mapping. Make on-the-fly adjustments to the Ri265’s speed and Stinger Wake Plate using paddle shifters behind the steering wheel. We truly appreciated the integrated fuel-monitoring data. For a boat with a 92-gallon fuel tank that owners will likely utilize on larger bodies of water, access to fuel-consumption rates and estimated range is vital. Integrated cameras in the bow and stern provide views of what’s going on in the water; the bow camera is especially useful for putting the big Ri265 on the trailer.

Centurion Ri265 aft seating
There are pop-up backrests integrated into the sun-pad area above the engine. Garrett Cortese

Of course, the Ri265 offers much more than a cool tower and world-class wakes and waves. With its Yacht Certified rating, the Ri265 can hold all your friends and family, along with all the gear you need for a day on the water. Storage is abundant behind and under almost every seat, as well as in a giant in-floor locker that can also act as a cooler. With deep gunwales, supple padding and Spradling vinyl interior, the Ri265 is comfortable from bow to stern for all passengers. Seating is customizable via the convertible rear bench sliding into the cockpit, as well as pop-up backrests on the port and starboard sides of the wraparound seating. The model we tested was equipped with Centurion’s Warrior Package, which offers upgrades to the audio system, soft-touch flooring designs, and a cool topography-inspired stitching pattern throughout. This look sets the Ri265 apart from anything else on the water. The lounge factor goes up at the transom as well, with pop-up backrests integrated into the engine compartment and storage-bay hatches.

For 2024, the Ri265 isn’t just one of the largest tow boats in the ever-expanding watersports market; it’s one of the most well-thought-out and versatile, even with its extra-large size. Shoppers might consider the Malibu Wakesetter 26 LSV (price not available at press time) when shopping. Families looking to accommodate everybody and do it all in style and comfort while enjoying killer wakesurfing action and an unbelievably cool tower will find the Ri265 a safe bet.

  • QuickLaunch utilizes the transom-mounted plates to get the big Ri265 on plane with minimal bow rise, even with a full ballast and crew.
  • All-new windshield not only stylishly complements the lines of the boat, but also features integrated vents for additional airflow.

The Ri265’s deep gunwales and Spradling vinyl interior with supple padding create comfort. Our test boat featured Centurion’s Warrior Edition Package, which boasts cool topography-inspired stitching. Seating also features a multiposition sliding rear bench,  flip-up stadium seat to port, an enclosure that houses a trash chute to starboard, and pop-up backrests integrated into the sun-pad area above the engine.

With its killer wakes and waves, the ultra-versatile (and cool) newly available Predator Power Tower and a Yacht Certified rating from the NMMA, the Ri265 can take potential buyers’ time on the water to new levels of fun with all their family and friends.

Heyday H20 ready for wake sports
The H20 has big advantages with its smaller size. Garrett Cortese

Given the growth of the inboard watersports boat market over the last decade, it should come as no surprise that the trend of offering bigger and bigger models has only—for lack of a better term—grown. Manufacturers such as Centurion, Malibu and MasterCraft all offer models 26 feet or longer. But does bigger always mean better? Not necessarily. Fortunately, for prospective buyers who need something smaller, there are still plenty of options to choose from. Most brands offer at least one model 21 feet or under, and several offer multiple. While the advantages of larger boats specific to wakeboarding and wakesurfing are fairly obvious, such as more room for friends, larger ballast systems for superior waves, etc., there are a lot of benefits to smaller boats.

The most obvious advantage is the purchase price. Generally, a 20- to 22-foot model is going to cost significantly less than a 25- to 26-footer. The second biggest economic advantage for smaller boats is fuel efficiency. Less fuel consumed means more wallet savings. Plus, if you’re a boater who needs to trailer your boat to and from your favorite riding spots, a smaller boat means better gas mileage for the tow vehicle (and quite possibly a cheaper vehicle that doesn’t require such a large tow rating).

Along with being easier to tow, smaller boat models are much easier to store, especially if you need to keep one in a standard-size garage. Every model listed in this roundup features a collapsible tower, making it ideal for storing in tighter places. The smaller size also presents an advantage when it comes to handling. A 20-foot boat is going to be easier to maneuver than its 26-foot sibling. MasterCraft’s XT20 is 6 feet, 5 inches shorter, 2 inches narrower and 1,800 pounds lighter than the Yacht Certified X26, so you know it’s going to be less demanding to handle in tight quarters.

With all the advancements in hull design and wave-shaping technologies, the smaller boats in the watersports segment are able to produce better wakes and waves than ever before. In years past, buyers who wanted clean surf waves with plenty of push for all the riders in their family often had to go for the bigger boats that displaced more water. In 2024, that’s not always the case. All the boats in our list can create waves that cater to all types of different riding levels and styles. You won’t be able to bring 16 or 17 of your closest friends; however, you can have a blast on the water with everybody you can bring, and you’ll likely save some money while doing it.

Here’s a look at eight of the best wakeboats under 21 feet.

Check out our list of eight great small, inboard-powered watersports boats. If you’re seeking easy stowage and lower costs, your next ride may be on this list.

MasterCraft XT20

The MasterCraft XT20 has undergone a complete overhaul, and MasterCraft spent a lot of effort making sure this 20-footer has the power of larger versions. The updated SurfStar technology allows the XT20 to produce smooth, symmetrical wakeboarding wakes as well as large waves with lots of push. Everyone onboard will be comfortable thanks to the convertible rear bench and transom lounge seats, which were made with triple-density foam and incredibly plush vinyl by MasterCraft. Customers can choose to go more simply with a new build or take this 20-footer to the next level with all the bells and whistles MasterCraft has to offer. The XT line is one of the most customizable on the market.

Heyday H20

The Heyday H20, which is brand-new for 2023, builds on the success of its larger sibling, the H22. Heyday has established a strong presence in the market by providing excellent performance at a very competitive price. The H20 is the only boat in the lineup without an automatic surf system, but it isn’t required because it still produces a good wave that can be enhanced with an additional wave shaper that can be attached on a suction cup. The rear-facing transom seats, which are unmatched by any other manufacturer’s chairs, and the power-folding swimstep are two things we adore about the H20. This makes storing the H20 in a garage or other small locations much easier.

Moomba Mondo

Buyers can now enjoy reliable performance at a more affordable price because of Moomba’s constant improvements to the models’ abilities and performance. The 20-foot Moomba Mondo is the smallest in the fleet, but it produces some very entertaining wakes and waves thanks to an amazing 3,700 pounds of ballast, the Swell Surf System plates, and AutoWake technology. The Mondo’s AutoWake system is essential since it uses onboard sensors to track the boat’s running attitude. The Swell Surf System and ballast will automatically adjust as necessary to maintain the wake or wave at the ideal location. This takes a ton of the guesswork out of setting the Mondo up, which is great for new users or veteran riders alike, because it means less time trying to figure things out and more time on the water having fun.

Axis A20

Since the brand’s beginnings, the Axis A20 has been a mainstay in the range, and in 2020 it had a significant update. The A20 is a fantastic choice for families looking to get into the watersports scene thanks to a better running surface and a more comfortable ride. It is impossible to emphasize how simple the Surf Gate and Power Wedge III systems are to use for wakeboarding and wakesurfing. Because of its adaptability, the A20 is excellent for riders who are just learning to stand up or who want to expand their repertoire of tricks.

Malibu 21 LX

The Malibu 21 LX, introduced in 2022, is a model that draws inspiration from a number of previous Malibu models and transforms them into a multisport, family-friendly vehicle. One obvious example of this is the hybrid bow, featured on the 21 LX, which has lines that are similar to those of a traditional bow but an interior portion that is shaped like a larger pickle fork bow, providing greater space for passengers. Wake Plus and Diamond are the two hull styles available to buyers. While Diamond is designed for customers who also wish to water ski more aggressively behind the 21 LX, Wake Plus is intended for those leaning more toward wakesurfing and wakeboarding performance. As for the wakes and waves, the combination of Surf Gate and Power Wedge III ensure the 21 LX can be quickly and easily tweaked for all different levels and styles of riding. Opt in for the Surf Band remote and the rider can control those systems from their wrist while riding.

Nautique GS20

For 2023, the Nautique GS20 has undergone a total makeover and is all-new. It is hailed as a true crossover performer since it can tow a skier around the slalom course in a matter of minutes after pulling a great wakesurf session with good waves. The GS20’s hull borrows design influences from its Super Air Nautique and Ski Nautique G23 relatives, enabling it to perform better in both extremes than you’d assume for a 20-foot V-drive. The Nautique Surf System plates that were tooled into the boat’s transom enable the GS20 to produce wakesurfing waves that can be adjusted for both novice and experienced riders. NSS plates are also much smaller than other surf system plates on the market, allowing for quick transfers from side to side when wakesurfing.

Supra SR

The 20’11” Supra SR provides the sporty, aggressive appearance for which Supra has grown renowned, along with all-around performance that is suitable for both novice and experienced riders. The SR, which is the largest boat on this list at just under 21 feet, is rated for 14 passengers, more than any other vessel. If you invite some friends along, the 3,300 pounds of ballast and Supra’s Swell Surf System will produce huge, entertaining waves. The standard AutoWake technology from Supra makes the on-water experience easier and more enjoyable for both the captain and the rider.

Tigé 20 RZX

Even though it is exactly 20 feet long, Tigé’s pickle-fork-shaped 20RZX can accommodate 13 people and 3,000 pounds of ballast. The 20 RZX keeps things simple and organized by placing the Clear Screen, which is positioned vertically, as the only screen in the cockpit. The 20 RZX’s systems can still be swiftly and simply managed with a few finger taps thanks to the single screen on the right of the steering wheel, which gives the captain a clear line of sight and minimizes distractions. The 20 RZX is a snap to set up and ride thanks to preset settings for surfing, wakeboarding, and water skiing, and the TAPS 3T surf plates make it simple to adjust the waves for different types of riders.

Overview

For 2023, Centurion’s high-performing Fi23 boasts a complete redesign, including a new look, updated running surface, fresh interior styling and more.

Centurion Fi23 running
QuickLaunch utilizes QuickSurf plates to get on plane with minimal bow rise. Garrett Cortese

The 6,900-pound Fi23 can load up with 5,250 pounds of ballast, displacing serious amounts of water. Its patented Ramfill system adds that weight in less than two minutes. Turn that displaced water into clean, rideable wakes and waves using Centurion’s QuickSurf Pro system (two stern-mounted plates that work with the running surface). The waves offer tons of push and a large sweet spot, and each QuickSurf Pro plate can be micro-adjusted, allowing riders to customize wave characteristics. Combined with the center-mounted Silent Stinger Wake Plate, which makes the wave longer and mellower or steeper and shorter, QuickSurf allows the Fi23 to cater to beginner riders and top-level pros.

Interior and Accessories

Control these systems and settings using steering-wheel paddles and Centurion’s Pano Side-by-Side 12-inch touchscreens. With just a couple of finger taps, you can set up the Fi23 for riding in minutes. A favorite feature of ours is Centurion’s inclusion of fuel flow and estimated range at the helm. As wakeboats grow larger and find use on bigger bodies of water, having access to this data is vital for a captain.

Centurion Fi23 helm
Easily control the boat’s systems via the Pano side-by-side touchscreens at the helm. Garrett Cortese

The Fi23’s higher gunwales offer a deeper, drier ride. Centurion’s Opti-V hull, with 30 degrees of deadrise at the bow, rides smooth and makes clean, symmetrical wakes and waves. There’s seating for 14 and storage throughout, and the ultra-wide bow is great for facing forward or aft. Customizable seating with a sliding rear bench makes it easy to watch the action. At the transom, new pop-up seatbacks create comfortable lounging for a midday break.

An optional sliding rear bench with multiple positions and removable backrests provides more variety in seating. Garrett Cortese

The optional Roswell DropZone power tower quickly lowers and raises with the push of a button, which is great for clearing low bridges or storing in a garage. It also adds a bold look to complement the lines of the Fi23. When combined with the integrated board racks and Bimini top, the tower adds storage, convenience and comfort.

The Fi23 is well worth considering if you are shopping for an ultra-competitive 23-foot watersports boat.

Centurion’s position as a big-time wakesurfing player gets cemented further with the brand’s completely redesigned 2023 Fi25.

Centurion Fi25 throwing a wave
Fully loaded, wakes and waves quickly reach pro level. Garrett Cortese

The Fi25’s new bow looks more aggressive but proves more comfortable and accommodating thanks to the higher freeboard. The increased freeboard and added comfort carry through to the main cockpit—a huge space offering room for all on board. Rated for 16 people, you can bring several families and not feel crammed. Opt for the sliding rear bench, which locks into four different locations. Optional pop-up seatbacks are also available on both the port and starboard sides of the wraparound seating.

Centurion Fi25 bow seating

The Fi25 guarantees great action to go with its great seating. Capable of holding a whopping 5,600 pounds of ballast and with Centurion’s signature Opti-V hull, the Fi25 displaces a ton of water. Fully loaded, wakes and waves quickly reach pro level. But you can size and shape them to suit varied skill levels by adjusting the QuickSurf Pro plates or the center-mounted Stinger Wake Plate. Centurion’s patented Ramfill2 system means that ballast fills in less than 90 seconds thanks to a new design with 2-inch ball valves. Built-in factory presets help you get on the water quickly. As you progress and tweak settings to your preferences, you can save them readily.

Centurion Fi25 helm
We found controlling systems using the dual 12-inch Pano side-by-side touchscreens easy. Garrett Cortese

We found controlling systems using the dual 12-inch Pano side-by-side touchscreens easy, even while driving. These  display a variety of features. Also check fuel flow and range estimates, using the Range of View (ROV) system, a great feature for a large boat like the Fi25. Captains will also appreciate the Corvette-inspired C8 steering wheel; it’s comfortable and, along with numerous other styling cues,  adds to the Fi25’s sporty, aggressive vibe.

When the riding is over, convert the transom into a comfortable lounge with the optional flip-up backrests. Of course, anywhere can be comfortable for lounging on a boat of this size. The extra-large Bimini top easily deploys for shade, and the Roswell DropZone Auto Tower functions even better than it looks.
