Known for its smooth ride, the catamaran hull has, by way of World Cat’s new 290 DC semi-displacement engineering, been enhanced. The 290 DC’s hull is built on the same Vectorflo air-cushion system common to all World Cat boats. Buoyancy was added to the front of the hull to give it more lift and to better accommodate the additional weight of the dual console.
Another design unique to the 290 DC is a windlass located 12 inches farther back than usual, making it more accessible. A rod locker is accessed through the deck, and a livewell is integrated into a four-person helm seat. They’ve even integrated a Euro transom to give the profile more appeal than you might find in the extremely high freeboard of traditional cats. The key quality remains this: a soft ride in all conditions.
